I just finished reading Ender's Game for the first time since elementary school (it's still an amazing work of literary art). I was inspired to buy and read the iBook edition after seeing the trailer for the new Ender's Game movie. Much as 'Exile Vilify' came to symbolize the emotional exhaustion felt by Abraham Lincoln while reading Team Of Rivals, 'Where Is My Mind' became my anthem for Ender and his battle against isolation, loneliness, and depression.
Amazing.

French duo Daft Punk never really entered my frame of consciousness until I went off to college and discovered, with the help of some schoolmates, some of their earlier music and music videos. The past few years have seemed pretty quiet on the Daft Punk music and news front (I enjoyed Kanye's Stronger and the soundtrack to TRON). Then mysterious ads started appearing for what seemed to be a new album. Finally, a few days ago a longer ad, embedded below, was shown at the Coachella music festival for Random Access Memories. Three "Collaborator" episodes have also been released thus far (embedded below) containing interviews with the various collaborators on this new album.
I just watched all three episodes and as intended, the episodes have caused me to become very curious and excited about this album. Just watch the Nile Rodgers episode and try not to be intrigued. This is probably the most excited I've been for a new album release since Radiohead's Hail To The Thief and The White Stripes' Elephant, both released a decade ago (omg I'm old). I'm sure I was also excited about a Kanye album along the way.
I hope Daft Punk's new album turns out to be amazing, because everything points to it being so.
Why the demotion of Funny Or Die's 'iSteve'? That's because the new trailer for Neill Blomkamp's 'Elysium' has just been released and it seems to contain pretty much everything I want in a movie. 'District 9' was amazing. Elysium looks set to be amazing.

I haven't played a console video game from start to finish in a long, long time (it's probably been more than two years). The new Bioshock game may change that. It looks pretty incredible.
I apologize for the language of the commentary in the video below. It's an entertaining look at the beginning of the game though. I watched it because I wasn't planning on playing the game and so didn't care about the game's beginning being spoiled. Now that I've watched it, I will be purchasing the game (legally) the first chance I get.
The Cure
One of the world's greatest races on one of the world's greatest racetracks. As a motor sports fan, you should know and be excited about this race. Plus there are constant rumors of hardcore Australian fans burying beer near the racetrack and digging it up on raceday to get around the 24 beers-per-person limit because, you know, 24 beers for one fully-grown Australian isn't enough.
